Silver Hill Historic District is a neighborhood of about 8 blocks near the University of New Mexico main campus.  Most of the houses were built in the 1920s in the adobe craftsman style.  My house was built in 1921 I was told.  You can tell by the scarcity of electrical outlets the various hardware that it was well before any standards.  But we make do.

I moved to the area from KC in November and love it here especially the weather and the people.  This was a good decision.  I find it more affordable to live here too if you don't let yourself get carried away.  So far I have mainly furnished the place with other people's discarded furniture.  It is still functional and free!

So far I have gotten:

A TV
couch
recliner
two chairs
end table
guest bed
two drawer end tables
desk
bookcase

I was talking to MiCKey and the cat earlier about volcanoes around here and then noticed this beautiful circular structure on the topo map of Sandia Mountain, near Vista de Oro de Placitas, or translated, View of the Placid Gold.  We may go prospecting for gold or something else soon.  Of course John will have to do all the work.

Pam came over a little bit ago with some of her stew,  and it was so good I ate it all and really had a reaction.  I went straight into Atrial Fib at about 150 bps.  I took my meds and rested but still feel shaken up.  I wonder what secret ingredient she used?
